Gents Win Exhibition Over Texas-Tyler

SHREVEPORT—The Centenary Gents won their second home exhibition game against the University of Texas at Tyler with a 2-1 victory, courtesy of their push up defense and aggressive front line at Mayo field.

Centenary’s passing game paid off in the first half with freshman Osama Buazza putting the ball in the back off the net off of junior Ryan Nicholson’s blocked shot. Greg Clarke got the second goal with a strong low shot to the right on a penalty kick.

The defensive trio of senior Aaron Elrod, junior Jonathan Wright, and freshman Dustin Forward kept the Patriots shots to a minimum, forcing freshman goalie Ransone Rose to make four saves.

The Gents host another exhibition game against William Carey College on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. They will kick off their first regular season match next Friday when they visit the Memphis Tigers.
