Gents Fall to #12 Tigers

BATON ROUGE, LA. - Rain postponed matches by over four hours, as the Gents dropped a 6-0 decision to LSU in non-conference tennis action on Saturday afternoon at the W.T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Stadium. Josh Pinto and Arthur Okura played well in the loss against the number 12-ranked Tigers, marking the best Maroon and White efforts of the contest.

In singles play, Pinto captured points in both sets for the Gents in the third position, but Tiger’s Jonathan Tragadh was able to outlast the sophomore to the earn the 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Okura posted set points against LSU’s Kevin Dessauer in the fourth slot, but was unable to subdue Dessauer’s consecutive point rally, dropping the match 6-2, 6-3.

Brian Roberts and Russ Patrick were also able to register points in the first and second slots, respectively.

Doubles were not played in the contest.

The Gents (0-2) will look for their first season win as they travel to Abilene, Texas on February 11th to battle Texas Tech.
