Ladies Drop Dual Match 6-1 to ULM

SHREVEPORT- The Ladies hosted their second home match of the spring season on Thursday afternoon against Louisiana-Monroe. Although the Ladies dropped the match 6-1, Anja Schmidt continued her winning ways, posting a 6-2 victory in No. 1 singles to improve her overall record to 11-3.  


The Lady Indians jumped out to an early afternoon lead, winning all three doubles matches. Schmidt and Heather Kelley just missed grasping a victory in the No.1 spot against Nataliya Ostrovska and Pauline Burlet, falling 9-8.


In singles action, Kelley and Christine Majchrowcz played tough in the second and third spots respectively, but were unable to pull out a wins against ULM's Ostrovska and Noelia Leon.


The Ladies (0-3) return to the court on Wednesday, Feb. 15 to take on Alcorn State in Lorman, Mississippi.
