CEDAR CITY, Utah – Looking to pull out their first Mid-Continent Conference road win, the Centenary women’s basketball team fell to Southern Utah, 68-58, in their second to last away game of the season.

Four Ladies scored in double figures in the loss led by Jelena Aleksic and Laura Way with 14 points each, a career-high for Way.  Holli Wilkins added 12 points while Laura Kizyte chimed in with 11.

Southern Utah’s Cassie Warburton led all scorers with 19 while her teammate Kristin Pierce had a game-high 12 rebounds.

Centenary shot an impressive 40.9 percent from downtown with five of the seven active players hitting a three-pointer.  The Ladies didn’t fare as well from the floor, hitting only 36.4 percent from the floor.  Way was perfect from the floor, nailing all five of her shots from the field, including both three-point attempts.

Turnovers were again a problem for the Ladies as more than a third of the Tunderbirds points came off of miscues.  Southern Utah scored 23 points of turnovers compared to just 15 by Centenary.

The Ladies return home as part of a three-game homestand where they face IUPUI on Saturday, February 19.  The game is part of a Homecoming double-header with the Gents.  Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
