SHREVEPORT – Oakland brought their high-powered offense to the Gold Dome as three Golden Grizzlies scored in double-figures, downing the Centenary women’s basketball team 72-50.

Holli Wilkins led three Ladies in double-figures with 16 while grabbing seven rebounds.  Jelena Aleksic scored 11 with six boards and Laura Kizyte chipped in with 10 points.

The Ladies were cold all night from the floor, shooting 20.6 percent in the first half and 28.8 overall.  Oakland responded by outscoring Centenary 43-17 in the first half while shooting 51.7 percent of their shots from the floor.

The Golden Grizzlies’ Amanda Batcha flirted with a triple-double, grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds while dishing out a career-high eight assists.  She added five points in the effort.

Centenary outplayed Oakland in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 26 point halftime deficit.  Wilkins scored 15 of her 16 points and all seven rebounds in the second half.  The sophomore playmaker was 3-for-5 from downtown and perfect from the charity stripe.

Outshooting the Golden Grizzlies 40 percent to 34.4 percent in the second, the Ladies outscored OU 33-29.  Centenary also won the battle of the boards in the half, 22-20.

The Ladies conclude their home schedule as they host Mid-Continent Conference leader Western Illinois on Saturday.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
