SHREVEPORT- The Ladies put up a strong fight at the Centenary Tennis Complex, but lost to nationally ranked Abilene Christian in women’s tennis action on Friday afternoon. The Ladies were unable to steal the 11th-ranked Division II Lady Wildcats’ momentum during singles play as they surrendered five of six singles points, dropping the match 6-1.

Despite the defeat, Anja Schmidt continued her six-match singles winning streak. The junior posted Centenary’s lone singles victory at the top of the order and teamed with Heather Kelley, notching a 8-3 win in No. 1 doubles.

In a hard-fought match at third singles, Christine Majchrowicz just missed pulling out a win against ACU’s Holly Lindloff, dropping the match 0-6, 6-1, 10-7.

Up next, the Ladies (0-8) will travel to Longview, Texas to take on Letourneau on March 12. The first serve is slated for 1:00 p.m.
