Ladies Finish 18th at USA Lady Jaguar Invitational

MOBILE, Ala – The Centenary women’s golf team shaved 16 strokes off their first day score to finish in 18th place with a 768 at the South Alabama Lady Jaguar Invitational.


Chloe’ Mims and Repsie Schirmer shot identical 173’s to finish tied for 75th place.  Mims struggled on the first day of action, shooting a season-high 92 before rebounding to shoot an 81 in the second round of play.  Schirmer was the Ladies most consitent golfer of the tournament, shooting 88 and 85.


Senior Andrea Sanchez shot a first-round low 85 for Centenary, finishing the tournament at 177 for 83rd place.  Lauren Mills continued to chip significant strokes off her score, recording a 127 followed by a 118.


Middle Tennessee State won the invitational with a 602, followed closely behind by McNeese State with 604 and Birmingham-Southern at 608.  Three schools tied for fourth as Troy, host South Alabama, and Southern Miss all shot 621’s.  New Orleans (630), West Florida (631), Bethune-Cookman (633), and Winthrop (636) finished seventh through tenth.  Jackson State (651), Nicholls State (660), Samford (662), Belmont (670), Lipscomb (676), Spring Hill (697), Mobile (727), and Centenary (768) rounded out the competition.
