LAFYATTE, La – The Centenary softball team dropped a pair of games to Louisiana-Lafayette, collecting just one hit in the two shutouts.  The seventh ranked Ragin’ Cajuns no-hit the Ladies in the opener 8-0 and handed the Maroon and White a 9-0 loss in the second match-up.


Brooke Mitchell and Ashley Kirchberg combined for the no-hitter in the first game, walking just three batters and not allowing a runner past second.


Centenary’s Kristen Morton (3-6) picked up the loss after giving up four runs on four hits in two innings.  Janis Kelley finished the game for the freshman, also giving up four runs in a pair of innings, striking out one.


The Ragin’ Cajuns (21-2) used a five run third inning in the second contest to push past the Ladies 9-0.  ULL did not let a runner advance to scoring position in the nightcap.


Jennifer Mango collected Centenary’s (9-11) only hit of the day, a single to the shortstop.  Jessica Ivins (6-3) earned the loss, striking out five in four and two-thirds innings of work.
