SHEREVEPORT- Unbelievable power at the plate gave the Centenary Ladies a two-run edge over Louisiana Tech on Thursday evening at the Centenary Softball Complex. During the 3-1 win, Centenary accumulated three homeruns off five hits to keep their undefeated home winning-streak alive with four.

Keeping the Lady Techesters at bay, Jessica Ivins (7-4) scattered four hits while striking out seven as Janis Kelley entered in the seventh to pick up her second save of the season.

LA Tech jumped out in the second, scoring one run with two outs on a fielding error by Amy Wiedeman. Ivins struck out Amber Miles looking to end the offensive threat.

Taking the plate in the bottom half of the second, Micah Rhodes blasted her second homerun of the year, knotting the score at one a piece.

The Ladies’ bats continued to swing in the sixth as Jennifer Mango cranked her first collegiate homerun over the left field fence only to be followed three at-bats later by Megan Hall’s crushing long ball to the same exact location.

With two outs, Rhodes narrowly missed posting her second homerun of the game as her powerful blast banged off the left field fence, allowing her to reach second. The sophomore rightfielder was stranded when Kelley struck out, but the Ladies' homerun rally was good enough to give Centenary the lead for good.

Centenary (10-12) will remain at home hosting the University of Arkansas next Wednesday, March 23rd. The opening game of the doubleheader will begin at 3:00 p.m.
