NATCHITOCHES, La.- The Centenary Ladies tennis team fell on the road to Northwestern State, 6-1 at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex on Monday afternoon.

Centenary’s Heather Kelley and Anja Schmidt teamed together in doubles action and came close to seizing an aggressive No. 1 match but fell, 8-5 to NSU’s Anneline Zerwick and Alex Nieto. Northwestern captured the doubles point by sweeping all three spots.

The Lady Demons (5-9) went on to nab five singles points, including one win by default. Centenary sophomore Christine Majchrowicz battled to beat NSU’s No. 2 player in 6-4, 7-6 (11-9), earning Centenary’s only point of the dual match.

Centenary (2-9) will travel to Valparaiso, Ind. to participate in Mid-Continent Conference play in two weeks. The Mid-Con cluster will include Chicago State, Oakland, and Valparaiso. The matches will begin on April 8th and will be played throughout the weekend.
