Ladies Tennis Finishes Conference Cluster, 1-2

VALPARAISO, Ind.- The Ladies tennis team posted their second loss of conference play on Sunday afternoon battling Valparaiso. With the 6-1 victory over Centenary the Crusaders won their second straight Mid-Continent Conference regular season title registering a flawless 8-0 mark for the second straight year at home during the women’s tennis cluster.

Valparaiso opened the match taking the doubles point with wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spot.

In singles competition, Anja Schmidt continues to lead the Mid- Con with yet another victory at first singles, boosting her overall record to 20-3.

The Crusaders clinched the title with wins in the following five singles matches.

The Ladies (3-11, 1-2) will prepare for their second conference cluster traveling to Tulsa, Okla. this weekend to take on Oral Roberts (6-11, 3-1) Western Illinois (2-9, 0-4), UMKC (0-8, 0-5), IUPUI (9-7, 3-1), and Southern Utah (8-3, 3-1). Their first match will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday against Oral Roberts.
