Ali Hilsher

HAMMOND, La – Centenary women’s soccer goalkeeper Ali Hilsher has been named first team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.  Hilsher, a sophomore from Tulsa, Okla., set the single season saves record with 142 for the Ladies between the pipes.

Hilsher ranked fourth in the nation in saves per game with 9.47, and was 12th in save percentage at a .877 clip.  She helped the Ladies as a team rank 20th in the nation in save percentage at .855.

Along with setting the season saves record, Hilsher also set, and subsequently broke, the school record for saves in a game.  Her 19 saves against Southern Utah passed her own mark of 17, set twice, against Southern Miss and Western Illinois.  Hilsher also had six games where she collected 10 or more saves.  She was named Mid-Continent Conference Defensive Player of the Week twice for her efforts.

Hilsher returns in the 2006 season to lead a Centenary team that brings back 10 starters from last year, and 11 players with full-time, extensive, starting experience.
