LITTLE ROCK, Ark The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped their second consecutive game to start the 2005-06 season, falling to Arkansas-Little Rock 73-48.  The 25-point loss was the worst against the Trojans in school history.

Senior Laura Kizyte led the Ladies with nine points, adding five rebounds and four assists to the fray.  Cierra Bush and Holli Wilkins added eight points each, with Bush grabbing a team-high seven rebounds in the contest.

The Ladies (0-2, 0-0 Mid-Con) were again plagued by the hot second half shooting of their opponent.  UALR (2-0, 0-0 Sun Belt), who hit just 25.9 percent from the floor and 11.1 percent from downtown in the first half, recovered to convert 60 percent from the floor in the second frame with 75 percent free throw percentage.  The difference changed an eight point contest at the half to a 25 point loss at the end of the game.

Renee Renz notched a double-double for UALR, converting 11-of-14 free throws on the day.  She added 12 rebounds in the effort.

The Ladies next return home to host Sam Houston State on Saturday at 1 p.m.  Centenary battled back from a nine point deficit last season against the Bearkats to tie the game with 40 seconds remaining before falling 70-68 in the Gold Dome.
