OXFORD, Miss.—The Centenary Gents are coming off an 85-67 loss at the hands of SMU as they look to rebound against Ole Miss on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Oxford, Miss. With 10 newcomers and only two returners on the court, the Gents are getting to know their personnel and continuing to grow as a team with each game.

Centenary (1-1) will take on an Ole Miss (2-1) team that opened its season with three games in the Jim Thorpe Classic. After squeaking by fellow Mid-Con member Southern Utah by only six points, the Rebels were dealt a 95-42 loss to New Mexico, but finished out the tournament with a 71-47 win over South Carolina State.

The Gents opened with a win over Division III member UT-Tyler before falling to SMU on Tuesday. New coach Rob Flaska is still in search of his first win over a Division I program and will look to guide Centenary to better fortunes on the road than the past has provided for the maroon and white.

Jason Underwood’s average of 14 ppg is tops for a Gents squad that looks to avenge a 72-60 defeat in Oxford in 2003. In that game, Centenary led well into the second half but was unable to pull out the victory in large part to a 1-for-11 effort from the three-point line.

The game will be broadcast locally in the Shreveport-Bossier area on KSYR Sunny 92.1 FM and can be heard over the internet at www.SportsJuice.com with the pre-game show beginning at 6:45 p.m.
