OXFORD, Miss – The Centenary men’s basketball dropped their second consecutive game on the road, falling to Mississippi 107-67 in Oxford.  Ole Miss had five players score in double-figures as they converted on 66.7 percent of their shots from the floor, including 45.8 percent from downtown.  The contest marked the first time a team had scored over 100 points against the Gents since the 2002-03 season.

Chris Watson scored 21 off the bench for Centenary, joined in double-digits by starters Larry Logan and Clarke Jackson with 12 and 10 respectively.  Jackson added a team-high five rebounds, while freshman Ronnie Martin dished out four assists while seeing his first action of the season.

The Gents (1-2) took an early lead at 4-2 in the beginning of the game, but never saw the lead again.  Dwayne Curtis led the Rebels with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting in 27 minutes of action.  Only one of the 11 Ole Miss (3-1) players that attempted a shot converted on less than 50 percent of his attempts.

Centenary shot 43.5 percent from the floor as a team, but hit on just 28.6 percent of their three point attempts.  The Gents also struggled at the charity stripe, converting less than 50 percent of their free throw attempts.

The Gents return home to host in-state rival Northwestern State on Tuesday, November 29, at 7:30 p.m.  The game is part of a doubleheader with the Ladies.  Both contests can be heard locally on KSYR 92.1 FM and online at www.SportsJuice.com.
