SHREVEPORT – The Centenary men’s golf team has signed Nick Faitz to a National Letter of Intent to play starting in the 2006-07 season.  Faitz will join a young Gents squad that will return just one upperclassman from this season’s roster.

A four-year letterwinner at Catholic High School in Little Rock, Ark., Faitz was named the 2005 Class AAAAA MVP in 2005, leading the Rockets to their first conference championship since 1991 and a share of the state title.  He is a two-time all-state selection and is ranked as one of the top five junior golfers in the state.

Faitz has won three Arkansas State Golf Association junior tournaments in 2005, including shooting a course record 65 at the Course at River Oaks in Searcy.  He was also a medallist at the Optimistic Junior Championship held at the PGA National in West Palm Beach, Fla.
