Gents to Return to BP Top of the World Classic in 2006

SHREVEPORT—The Centenary men’s basketball team will be returning to Alaska during the 2006 season to take part in the BP Top of the World Classic hosted by the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The visit will be the second for the Gents in four years as the maroon and white faced off against Nebraska, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and UC Santa Barbara in the tournament during the 2002-03 season. The Gents will be one of three returning teams participating in the event as Utah State will be making its third trip to the Classic while Weber State will be taking part for the second time.

 

The BP Top of the World Classic will take place Nov. 16-19, 2006 at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks, Alaska. The complete tournament field includes the host Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks, an NCAA Division II team, the University of Rhode Island, Drake University, Troy State University, and Southeast Missouri State University in addition to Utah State, Weber State, and Centenary.
