COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The Centenary gymnastics team easily discarded the Air Force Academy and Wisconsin-Stout powered by four first place individual performances on Friday evening. Sarah Ball, Jessie Angus, Meredith Smith, and newcomer Diana Janda all won event titles while leading the Ladies to a 187.750 to 181.650 victory over the host Falcons. Wisconsin-Stout rounded out the participants, claiming third place with a final total of 174.575.

Competing without two-time NCAA Regional Qualifier Kristina Menne, Centenary stepped up to the challenge and claimed the top score on three events. Sarah Ball’s 9.600 on the floor placed her in a tie for the top spot with teammate Diana Janda on the event. Ball also totaled a 37.650 in the all-around, good enough for second place. Jessie Angus recorded a 9.500 on the uneven bars to garner the rank on top and Meredith Smith tallied Centenary’s highest score of the meet with a first place score of 9.725 on the vault.

Other top scores included Smith’s second place effort on the floor (9.500) and a second place showing from Carmen Reid on the vault (9.575). Julia Cornelius and Mandy Bennett both scored a 9.300 on the bars to finish second on that apparatus as well. Bethannie Bowie also claimed second place on the beam with a 9.450.

The Ladies will enjoy only one day of rest before facing Air Force again on Sunday at 2 p.m.
