SHREVEPORT—The Centenary gymnastics team fell to the visiting #17 Auburn Tigers in the Gold Dome on a chilly Sunday afternoon 195.850 to 188.350. The Tigers were fresh off of a victory over LSU and showed why as they swept the top three places on all four individual events. The Ladies’ score was their second highest of the season and their team effort on the floor exercise was the best of the year thus far.


Centenary’s Meredith Smith and Jessie Angus each enjoyed success on the day. Between the two gymnasts, they recorded the Ladies’ top scores on all four events. Smith placed fifth on the vault with a 9.800 and fourth on the floor with a 9.750. Angus captured fifth place on the bars with a 9.675 and took seventh on the beam with a 9.550.


Sarah Ball and Kristina Menne landed in second and third place in the all-around with scores of 37.100 and 36.300 for the Ladies while Lindsey Puckett claimed the all-around title with a final tally of 39.350 for Auburn.


For the Tigers, Julie Dwyer took first place in the vault and beam with scores of 9.875 and 9.925. A.J. Mills finished on top on the bars with a 9.900 and Claire Seiffert won the floor exercise with a 9.825.


The Ladies will next host the LSU Tigers in the Gold Dome on Sunday, February 26, at 2 p.m.
