SHREVEPORT – The Centenary women’s golf team will host their annual Ladies Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Shreveport Country Club.  Head Coach Ken Dupree has brought in 12 teams from around the region and the Mid-Continent Conference to make this one of the deepest and most competitive fields in the history of the event.

Non-Conference opponents making their way to Shreveport are Arkansas Tech, Jackson State, Lamar, McLennan C.C., Nicholls State, Rhodes College, Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, and New Orleans.  Mid-Con foes competing will be Chicago State, IUPUI, and defending team champions Oral Roberts.

The Golden Eagles won the Invitational last year, posting rounds of 313 and 317 for a two stroke victory over Lamar’s 632 (315 and 317).  The Cardinals’ Casey Cain won individual honors in a three-hole playoff over teammate Christa Gunn and ORU’s Candice Satow after each shot a 154.

Other previous scores of teams returning from last year include:  Nicholls State 665 (327 and 338), Rhodes 757 (383 and 374), Texas State 644 (333 and the Invites best round of 311), and IUPUI 705 (353 and 352).  Host Centenary finished at 863 with rounds of 405 and 398.
