SHREVEPORT—Centenary volleyball coach Jenny Hazelwood has named Teri Fry as the Ladies new assistant coach. Fry comes to Centenary after an outstanding playing career at Texas-San Antonio where she also served as a coach. She will assume all coaching responsibilities including recruiting, strength and conditioning, film exchange, and all other practice and game-day duties.

“I am really excited that Centenary College and Coach Hazelwood have given me the opportunity to further my coaching career,” said Fry. “I am looking forward to helping bring the Centenary volleyball program to the next level.”

Fry played middle blocker for four years at Texas-San Antonio in the Southland Conference where she ranks in the top ten of three career lists including solo blocks, block assists, and total blocks. In 2000, she was a member of the Roadrunner’s NCAA Tournament team and was named all-Southland Conference as a senior. Last year Fry was a student coach for her alma mater.

“We are very fortunate to be able to add Teri to our staff,” said Hazelwood. “Her experiences as both a player and a coach at UTSA allow her to bring a wealth of ideas to our program.”

Fry takes the position vacated by Brianne Smedley, who left to become the head coach at Berry College in July of this year.
