MOBILE, Ala. – The Centenary women’s golf team added nine strokes to their opening round score of 319 to drop two spots and finish the 2006 Lady Jaguar Invitational at Azalea City Golf Course in 14th place.  The Ladies shot a 328 to hold off hot rounds by Samford, Arkansas State, Nicholls State, and Belmont to finish in the middle of the pack.


Chloe’ Mims couldn’t match her 77 from Monday, carding an 83 to finish tied for 53rd, Centenary’s best score at 160.  Freshman Leigh Newton continued to show improvement and consistency as she added a second round 80 to go with her previous 81 to finish tied for 60th with 161.


Just behind Mims and Newton was Tracy Williams, whose 162 (78 and 84) tied her for 65th and Jessica Garza (83 and 81) whose 164 was good enough to tie for 71st place.


Bethany Cox finished in 105th with rounds of 94 and 92 for a 186.
