NORMAN, Okla.—The Oklahoma Sooners are the fifth-ranked gymnastics team in the NCAA and showed why they are regarded so highly after defeating Centenary 196.000 to 188.425 at the Lloyd Noble Center on Friday night. The loss is the second for the Ladies in as many meetings against the Sooners.

 

Oklahoma held the upper hand on all four events and swept the top three spots individually on each apparatus. Kiara Redmond and Brittney Koncak-Schumann tied for the lead in the all-around with scores of 39.475. Haley DeProspero took third with a total of 38.500 while Centenary’s Kristina Menne placed fourth with a combined score of 38.025.

 

Top performers for the Ladies on each event included Meredith Smith on the vault (9.675), Menne on the bars (9.700), Sarah Ball on beam (9.400), and Menne on the floor exercise (9.850).

 

Centenary will host Texas Woman’s University in its final home meet of the season on Sunday. Start time is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Gold Dome.
