NORMAN, Okla. – The Centenary baseball team couldn’t bring an end to their six-game losing streak as they fell to #23 Oklahoma 17-6 on the road Friday night.  The Gents allowed 16 hits and three multiple-run innings of three, five, and eight in the loss.

Brandon Fulenchek (2-4) picked up the loss after being pulled after just one and a third innings of work.  The junior southpaw allowed six hits for five runs, but only one run was earned.

Offensively, the Gents (7-9) only mustered six hits but took advantage of six Sooner walks and a pair of hit batsmen for their six runs.

Senior Tim Ryan tripled in the seventh inning to spark a four-run frame for the Maroon and White.  With runners of the corners an one out, pinch-hitting Torey Williams singled to left field to drive home Ryan and advance Nate Santiago to second.  Santiago would then score on a RBI single by Robbie Knowles.  Back-to-back hit batmen on Seth Salinas and Justin Huff plated another run before Knowles scored on a passed ball.

Ryan would score his second run of the game an inning later with an RBI by Williams while Salinas scored in the ninth from a sacrifice fly by Justin Darr.

Sooners (14-4) starter Daniel McCutchen (4-2) held Centenary in check through six innings for allowing the four runs across in the seventh.  He struck out nine Gents in the victory.

The Gents and the Sooners return to action tomorrow at 3 p.m.  LiveStats are available online at www.SoonerSports.com.
