SHREVEPORT—The Centenary women’s tennis team received a doubles win from Heather Kelley and Christine Majchrowicz as well as singles wins from each in its match with Grambling on Saturday. Unfortunately, the individual efforts would not be enough as the Ladies lost to GSU 5-2.

Kelley and C. Majchrowicz defeated the Lady Tiger’s top doubles team 8-2. But, the #2 team of Jennifer Majchrowicz and Lindsay Ezell fell to Eja Amen and Patricia Gallegos of Grambling 8-2. The result was the same in favor of GSU in the third match as Courtney Meyers and Versha Sharma were up-ended by Ariea and Ashley Williams 8-0.

#1 Kelley and #2 C. Majchrowicz started Centenary off right in the singles portion of play by dismissing Amen (2-6, 7-6 (4), 10-6) and Ariea Williams (6-0, 6-0) respectively. Grambling then rebounded to take the final four matches in the three through six slots. Kristina Collins (6-1, 6-1), J. Majchrowicz (6-1, 6-2), Ezell (6-1, 6-1), and Sharma (6-0, 6-0) all fell to their GSU opponents for the Ladies.

Centenary will next travel to Nacogdoches, Texas, on March 16, to take on Stephen F. Austin at 2 p.m.
