SHREVEPORT—The Centenary gymnastics team tallied its best team score of the season in its final home meet while besting Texas Woman’s University 192.325 to 191.700. The Ladies honored seniors Sarah Ball, Sarah Racioppi, and Carmen Reid but it was junior Kristina Menne that turned in the stellar performance as she captured the all-around title with a score of 39.075.

TWU sparkled on the uneven bars to start the meet and carried the momentum over to the vault, pushing out to a one-point lead after the first two rotations. Centenary made up ground after edging the Pioneers on the beam to gain two-tenths of a point back and then outscored the visitors by almost two points on the floor exercise to claim the victory.

Meredith Smith showed why she has been the Ladies top vaulter by capturing second place with a 9.750. Reid earned a 9.600 on her run to snag third place on the event for Centenary. Smith also placed third on the floor exercise.

Menne earned identical scores of 9.900 on both the bars and the floor to win each rotation while her 9.750 on the beam was good enough for second. Jessie Angus ranked third on the bars with a 9.825 effort and Ball finished second in the all-around with a combined total of 38.425.

Centenary will compete next on March 25 when the Ladies travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the Midwest Independent Championships hosted by Southeast Missouri State University.
