BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Centenary women’s golf team finished the extended second day of the Samford Intercollegiate in 10th place with a 662.  The Ladies finished the final two holes of Monday’s round, postponed because of rain, before shooting another 18.  Centenary shot 330 for the first round with 332 in the second.

 

Chloe’ Mims paced the Ladies with a pair of sub-80 rounds, shooting 79 and 78 to finish tied for 20th with 157.  Freshman Jessica Garza matched 80s to tied for 25th at 160.

 

Tracy Williams and Leigh Newton finished tied for 61st and 65th respectively, with Williams shooting 83 and 89 for 172 while Newton scored a 173 on rounds of 88 and 85.  Bethany Cox finished 75th with rounds of 92 and 93 for 185.

 

Birmingham-Southern took home first place with a 602, defeating second place Jacksonville State (616) by 14 strokes.  McNeese State (626) and Middle Tennessee State (629) battled for third, while South Alabama (634), New Orleans (639), Belmont (652), Western Kentucky (654), Samford (654) Centenary (662), Tennessee Tech (664), and Lipscomb (667) finished middle of the pack.  Rounding out the competition was Nicholls State (674), Troy (699), and Tennessee State (752).
