LUFKIN, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished the Stephen F Austin Crown Classic in 12th place, shaving 13 strokes off their first round score of 346 to finish with a 679.


Junior David Viviano tied for 40th place to lead the Gents, adding a second-day 79 to his initial 77 for 156.  Nick Orta cut 10 strokes off his initial 89 to finish 63rd with 168, while John Hogan matched Monday’s 86 to tie for 64th place with 172.


Zach Bruhnke subtracted seven strokes from his day one 96 to end up in 68th place with 185 and Mike Lowbardino finished in 69th with scores of 94 and 100 for 194.


Missouri State took first overall with 592 over Oral Roberts in a tiebreaker.  Texas-Pan American (569) and Sam Houston State (599) finished just behind the lead.


The middle of the pack had Southern Illinois (602), McNeese State (604), host Stephen F. Austin (607), Nicholls State (609), and Texas State (610) finished within eight strokes of each other.  UMKC (630) and Centenary (679) rounded out the competition.
