NATCHITOCHES—Centenary sophomore Jennifer Majchrowicz won both her singles match and her doubles contest over her opponents from Northwestern State on Thursday. However, the Ladies as a team were not as fortunate as the Maroon and White lost to the Lady Demons 6-1.

Majchrowicz and teammate Lindsay Ezell defeated NSU’s tandem of Alcantara and Grimes 8-6 in the third doubles position. She then pulled off a 6-0, 6-0 head-to-head win over Grimes in the #6 singles slot.

Heather Kelley and Christine Majchrowicz both played highly contested singles matches in the first and second singles positions. Kelley lost to Villegas of Northwestern State 6-3, 7-5 while Majchrowicz forced a third set in falling 4-6, 6-2, 10-6 to Silva. On the double side, Kelley and Majchrowicz went down 8-1 in their team effort while Kristina Collins and Courtney Myers lost 8-0.

Myers and Ezell both dropped their singles matches 6-1, 6-0 and Collins was swept 6-0, 6-0 in the #3 slot.

The Ladies and the Gents both travel to Longview, Texas to lock up with LeTourneau University at 2 p.m. on Friday.
