INDIANAPOLIS – Centenary freshman Jessica Garza earned second team All-Mid-Continent Conference women’s golf honors after finishing tied for 10th place at the conference championships at The Fort Golf Club.  Garza shot an 81 on Tuesday to go with Monday’s two-round total of 155 for 236.  The Ladies finished in fifth place with a 977 after posting rounds of 321 and 334 on Monday along with Tuesday’s 322.


Sophomore Chloe’ Mims matched Garza’s second day 81 to finish tied for 13th with 242 after shooting 161 yesterday.  Leigh Newton also posted a final round 81, placing her 23rd with 254 after a day one total of 173.


Tracy Williams shot the Ladies best round on Tuesday with a 79.  She finished 18th with 245 after a 166 in the first two rounds.


Freshman Bethany Cox posted a 95 to go with her Monday totals of 89 and 95 to finish in 29th place at 279.


Oral Roberts took home the women’s title with a Mid-Con Championship record 902 in 54 holes.  Oakland (929) took second while Western Illinois (947) was third, boasting the individual champion and Player of the Year Karra Johnson.  Johnson shot a 219, another Mid-Con record in a 54-hole championship.  UMKC (956), Centenary (977), and IUPUI (1024) rounded out the competition.
