Ryan Named Mid-Con Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill.- Centenary senior outfielder Tim Ryan has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week after leading the Gents to a doubleheader sweep over Chicago State on Saturday.

 

Ryan hit .727 in the two games, going 8-for-11 with three doubles, six runs scores, and 11 RBI.  The leadoff lefty also stole a pair of bases.  His best performance came in Saturday’s opener, going 5-for-6 with four runs, three doubles, and seven RBI.

 

Now the Mid-Con batting leader, Ryan is hitting at a .391 clip this season.  He also leads the league in hits with 61 in 43 games.

 

The Gents (18-25, 6-8 Mid-Con) next host Valparaiso for a four-game series, starting Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
