Ladies Golf Adds Blackwell to 2006-07 Recruiting Class

SHREVEPORT – Centenary women’s golf head coach Ken Dupree has announced the signing of Texas prep standout Brittany Blackwell (Grapevine, Texas / Grapevine HS) to a National Letter of Intent.  Blackwell will join a young but talented Ladies roster for the 2006-07 season.

“I’m overjoyed by the signing of Brittany,” Dupree said. “She’s a highly motivated and determined player who’s tenacity will be a welcome addition to our team.”

Blackwell will add athleticism to the Ladies program that should translate to lower team scores and add a challenge to the team’s top veteran performers.  Centenary qualified for their first Mid-Continent Conference championship team appearance this season, finishing fifth.

“We’re improving with every signee,” said Dupree.  “And with no seniors and just one junior set for next year’s team, I see a lot of clear skies ahead for the Ladies program.”
