RUSTON—The Centenary Ladies softball team placed three players on the 2006 Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana team. Micah Rhodes, Emerald Doria, and Jennifer Mango each were voted a spot on the team by LSWA members after players were nominated by state sports information directors.

A junior from Grapevine, Texas, Rhodes was selected first team All-Louisiana as an outfielder. The power-hitting lefty has also been named first team All-Mid-Continent Conference, second team NFCA All-South Region, and earned multiple Mid-Con Player of the Week awards. She led the team in hitting with a .416 batting average and belted nine homeruns to go with 42 RBI.

Mango earned the honor of being chosen to the All-Louisiana team for the second consecutive season. The sophomore from Sugarland, Texas, was a second team honoree at third base this season after getting the nod as a utility player as a freshman. She hit .314 while driving in 32 RBI en route to a second team All-Mid-Con citation as well.

Just a freshman, Doria enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign. The San Anotnio, Texas, native was named to the LSWA second team and finished in a three-way tie for Freshman of the Year. She led all Centenary players with 10 homeruns and 48 runs scored. In addition, she hit a solid .339 from the plate while starting every game of the season for the Ladies at shortstop. Doria was also a second team All-Mid-Con member as well as the conference’s Newcomer of the Year.
