JONESBORO, Ark- The Centenary women’s soccer team dropped their road match against Arkansas State 2-1.  The Ladies struggled in the first half before taking control for most of the second, but couldn’t hold on as they fell to 3-4-1 on the season.

Sophomore Bre Fletcher, the Ladies leading scorer, continued her scoring ways as she netted Centenary’s lone goal.  She missed out on an opportunity for her first multi-goal game of the year as she missed on a breakaway with the game tied 1-1.  Senior Sam Savage also had the opportunity to give the Ladies a 2-1 advantage as her attempt careened off the crossbar.

“It’s a frustrating loss,” head coach Chase Wooten said after the match. “But seeing the way we regrouped in the second half shows how well we know we can play.  We saw a lot of good things from new faces.”

The Ladies continue their road trip as they face Arkansas-Little Rock on Sunday.
