Gents, Haydel Continue Improvement at ULL

LAFAYETTE—The Centenary men’s cross country team continued to show its improvement over last season at the Ragin’ Cajuns Invitational hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette. The Gents finished fourth in the field of eight teams and knocked off such schools as Northwestern State, Nicholls State, Louisiana College, and Grambling State.


Freshman Michael Haydel (Bossier City, La., Parkway HS) again led the Centenary team with a ninth-place showing out of 49 participants with a time of 29:11.54. Will Boothe (30:06.47) placed 13th while William Fell (30:30.20) and Ryan Duplantis (31:12.86) rounded out the top 20 finishers for the Gents at 16th and 19th places respectively. Adam Walton narrowly missed a top 20 honor by placing 21st with a time of 31:27.77 on the 8k course.


Other Centenary finishers included David Pennywell (25th), Gerrit Moeller (33rd), Ricky Thomas (36th), Brian Williams (37th), Andrew Deas (39th), Saul Castanada (40th), and David Reiland (43rd).
