Monday, September 19, 2005

ELMHURST, Ill.—The Mid-Continent Conference announced Monday that Centenary volleyball player Danielle Bochat has been named conference Offensive Player of the Week. The offensive award is the first for any Ladies player since Centenary joined the Mid-Con in 2003. Overall, it is the second player of the week accolade this season for the program as Lili Williams earned the defensive honor previously.

Bochat (Boerne, Tex.) helped the Ladies to a 3-1 week and a second place finish in the Lady Panther Invitational. The freshman totaled 77 kills, 44 digs, and hit .321 on the way to receiving All-Tournament team honors. She had at least 20 kills in three of the four matches and tied a school record that has stood since 1994 with a 30-kill performance in the Ladies victory over Texas Southern.

Centenary will open Mid-Con play at Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Okla., this Saturday at 5 p.m.
