Doubleheader on Tap for Centenary Soccer
Tuesday, September 27, 2005

SHREVEPORT -  The Centenary men’s and women’s soccer teams will play their only home doubleheader of the 2005 season as the Ladies host Grambling state Wednesday at 5 p.m., followed by the Gents taking on visiting Dallas Baptist.

The Ladies are coming off a pair of road losses to Oral Roberts and Tulsa, while the Gents were forced to postpone their Mid-Continent Conference home opener against Oral Roberts because of Hurricane Rita.

Sophomore Bre Fletcher leads the Ladies in scoring with eight points (three goals, 2 assists) while keepers Ali Hilsher and Sarah Balkey have combined for 93 saves and three shutouts on the year.

The Gents are still looking for their first goal of the season, but have also played one of the toughest schedules in the history of the program.  With losses to three nationally ranked teams in three opening tournaments, Centenary feels they have collected enough experience against the highest quality opponents to begin to make noise on the pitch.
