Day 1 Results

TULSA, Okla – Paced by strong back-to-back showings in the first two rounds by Chloe’ Mims and Jessica Garza, the Centenary women’s golf team finished the first day of the Oral Roberts Shootout in 15th place with rounds of 333 and 334 for 667.  Mims’ pair of 78s put her in a tie for 20th  (156) place overall, while the freshman Garza posted identical 79s to tie for 31st (158).

 

Tracy Williams is in a tie for 66th (170) after shooting 86 and 84, while Leigh Newton’s 183 with scores of 90 and 93 ties her at 87th.  Bethany Cox finished out of scoring consideration with a pair of 96s, putting her in 90th (192) place.

 

Host Oral Roberts leads the field of 17 teams with a 609, followed closely behind by Kansas with 610.  Arkansas-Little Rock (626), UTEP (628), and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (629) represent the next tier, followed by Arkansas State (636), Missouri State and McNeese State (tied with 638), North Texas (639), Lamar (642), and South Dakota State (649).  Rounding out the competition is Northeastern State (657), UMKC (663), Centenary (667), Western Illinois (671), and Sam Houston State (672).

 

The final round of the three round even will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
