Ladies Run Tune-up for Mid-Con Championships

NATCHITOCHES, La.—The Centenary Ladies cross country team placed seventh out of the ten-team field at the NSU Cross Country Invitational hosted by Northwestern State University on Monday evening. The Ladies scored a 213 to defeat East Texas Baptist, Nicholls State, and Louisiana College. Stephen F. Austin took the title with a total score of 16 while UL-Lafayette (69) and UL-Monroe (103) placed second and third respectively.


Sophomore Lori Von Pingel paced the Ladies with a 26th-place showing with a time of 27:20.38 over the 6k trek. Freshman Laura Deas finished second for Centenary at 40th (30:45.92) while fellow newcomer Alysha Wallace took 48th (32:03.46). Jennifer Bouso (49th – 32:04.78) and Molly Broderick (50th – 32:14.19) completed the Ladies scorers.


Centenary will now take a few weeks off before traveling to Valparaiso, Ind., for the Mid-Continent Conference Championships on Oct. 29th.
