Hilsher Named Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill – Centenary sophomore Ali Hilsher has been selected as the Mid-Continent Conference women’s soccer Defensive Player of the Week after posting back-to-back double-figure save matches over the weekend.  Hilsher grabbed 15 saves in a 2-0 loss to Mid-Con rival Valparaiso and another 10 in the Ladies 1-0 victory over IUPUI. 

 

Hilsher is currently ranked 16th in the nation in saves per game with 7.56.  Her 93 saves on the year are just 25 behind the Centenary all-time single season record, with six matches left to play.  She also won Player of the Week accolades for the week of Sept. 19th.

 

The Ladies (5-8-1, 1-2 Mid-Con) begin a four-match homestand this weekend as they host Mid-Con foe Western Illinois on Friday at 7 p.m. and non-conference opponent Stephen F. Austin on Sunday at 1 p.m.
