JONESBORO, Ark – The Centenary women’s golf team finished competition in the Arkansas State Lady Indian Classic in 12th place, shooting rounds of 326 and 336 for a 662 (+86).


Freshman Jessica Garza led the Ladies with a 157 with rounds of 77 and 80 to finish tied for 18th place.  Sophomore Chloe’ Mims tied for 47th with 81 and 84 for a 165, followed by freshmen Tracy Williams (t-60, 82-86, 168) and Leigh Newton (t-68, 86-86, 172).  Senior Billie Cook (t-74, 88-89, 177) finished out of scoring consideration.


Sam Houston State shaved seven strokes off their Day 1 score to win with a 617.  A tight pack followed, as Louisiana-Monroe (621), Texas State (623), Murray State and Texas-San Antonio (625 each), and Arkansas State and Northern Iowa (628 each) finished within seven strokes of each other.  The next tier of finishers included McLennan CC (639), Belmont (640), Austin Peay State (645), and Arkansas Tech (659).  Rounding out the competition was Centenary (662), St. Louis (664), and Evansville (667).
