SHREVEPORT - The Centenary women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw in an exhibition contest with McNeese State Saturday at Mayo Field.

Playing on just a days rest following their last exhibition, a 12-0 defeat of Bossier Parish Community College Thursday, the Ladies fought back in the second half to earn the draw with McNeese State.

Freshman Kristin Weaver’s (Prosper, Texas/Clear Lake) 30-yard shot was able to elude the outstretched hands of McNeese State’s Shelby Money, beating the Cowgirls goalkeeper into the top of the net in the 59th minute to even the game at 1-1.

McNeese State took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when junior Cynthia Torres’ shot from the right side of the box curved into the left corner over Ladies junior goalkeeper Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla./Washington).

Hilsner, along with freshman goalkeeper Kate Donnelly (Seabrooke, Texas/Clear Lake), combined for two saves.

Money, who was one of three goalkeepers to play in the exhibition for McNeese State, had the lone save for the Cowgirls.

Shots were in favor of McNeese State, 13-2.

Centenary prepares to open the regular season against Sam Houston State, at Mayo Field, next weekend.
