SHREVEPORT, La. -- Looking for its first win of the season, the Centenary men’s soccer team (0-1-0) hosts Belhaven College (1-0-0) Friday at Mayo Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

After suffering a 2-1 loss at the hands of Central Arkansas in their last game, the Gents look to regroup in Friday’s game against the Blazers.

Leading the Centenary attack into Friday’s contest is junior Ben Calderara (Katy, Texas/Katy Taylor). The junior forward currently leads the Mid-Continent Conference in shots per game (6.00) and had several scoring opportunities in the Gents’ first game of the season.

Scoring the lone goal of the season for Centenary and leading the team with two points is junior Aron Taylor (Calgary, Alberta/Western Canada).

In goal, junior Donnie Henderson (Houston/Westfield) started the season opener for the Gents, making four saves in 85 minutes of play.

Playing in the NAIA Gulf Coast Athletic Conference, Belhaven captured a 4-0 win over Crichton College Tuesday.

Leading the Blazers in the shutout win was 2005 leading scorer Paul Babba. The senior forward tallied two goals in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

Freshman goalkeeper Ashley Thorpe made two saves in the Blazers shutout victory Tuesday.

In the only meeting between the two schools, played Oct. 25, 2003 at Mayo Field, Centenary captured a 2-0 victory.
