NACOGDOCHES, Texas—The Centenary men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack Relays on Saturday. The Ladies ran a 4k while the Gents’ course was a 6k in a unique event that pits each runner with a partner. Instead of traditional scoring, each duo competes against the clock.

The Ladies top finishing team of Lori VonPingel and Sunny LaGrone took 21st place with a combined effort of 34:08.28. Molly Broderick and Ashley Voorhies completed the run in 38:18.74 and Cara Miccoli and Taylor Robertson posted a time of 38:23.43.

The Gents best effort was given by partners Adam Walton and Michael Haydel who took 16th place with a time of 39:12.36. Will Boothe and William fell finished three spots back from Walton and Haydel at 42:21.71 while Brian Williams and Adam Nerio crossed the line at 43:15.40. David Pennywell and Gerrit Moeller (43:23.42) and Ricky Thomas and Saul Castanada (47:03.85) rounded out the Centenary contingent at the race.

The Ladies and Gents cross country teams will next compete at Louisiana-Monroe on September 8th. The women will run two miles beginning at 5:30 p.m. while the men’s jaunt will start at 6:30 p.m. and will cover four miles.
