Ladies Travel to Natchitoches to Face Northwestern State

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Traveling to Natchitoches, the Centenary women’s soccer team (2-2-0) looks to break a two-game losing streak when it faces Northwestern State (2-2-0) Tuesday at NSU Soccer Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

Centenary is coming off an overtime loss to Stephen F. Austin Sunday, surrendering a 2-1 lead late in regulation play. In Tuesday’s contest with Northwestern State, the Ladies look to get back on track.

Freshman Stefani Robbs (Dallas/R.L. Turner) continues to lead the Ladies in scoring this season, registering her fourth goal of the season in Sunday’s overtime loss. Robbs is among the Mid-Continent leaders in points per game this season, with nine in four starts.

Scoring twice this season, junior Bre Fletcher (Schertz, Texas/Samuel Clemens) stands second on the team in points with four. Fletcher has 11 shots in four games this season.

Senior Heather Kasparek (Broken Arrow, Okla./Union) is third on the Ladies in points with two, scoring one game-winning goal.

Junior Ali Hilsher (Tulsa, Okla./Washington) has started all four games in goal for Centenary. In her four starts, Hilsher has a 1.93 goals-against average and a .778 save percentage.

Northwestern State defeated LSU-Shreveport, 1-0, in its last game.

Scoring the lone goal for the Lady Demons in Sunday’s win and leading the team in scoring is freshman midfielder Caroline Seago. In four games this season, Seago has a goal and three points.

Behind Seago are midfielders Erin Hebert and Mya Walsh, both with a goal and two points in four games. Hebert has the Lady Demons other game-winning goal of the season.

In goal, junior Johnna Klohoker has started all four games, credited with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .800 save percentage.

This season, the Lady Demons have outshot their opponents, 56-41, in four contests.

Centenary lost last season’s encounter with Northwestern State, falling, 2-1, at Mayo Field, Sept. 7, 2005. Scoring the goal for the Ladies in the loss was senior defender Lauren Mills (Austin, Texas/James Bowie).
