SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Centenary men’s soccer team hosts the Centenary Invitational Friday and Saturday at Mayo Field. Games are set for 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on both days.

The four-team tournament invites schools from the Atlantic Sun Conference, Southern Conference, along with the Centenary’s own Mid-Continent Conference.

Continuing to build heading into Mid-Con Conference play next week, Centenary (1-2-0) faces Lipscomb and Georgia Southern in this weekend’s tournament, playing games at 7:30 p.m. both nights.

The Gents are coming off a 3-2 loss to nationally-ranked South Carolina Tuesday, in which Centenary came back from a two-goal deficit to tie the game.

Leading Centenary in scoring after three games is junior Aaron Volanski (Magnolia, Texas/Memphis), who has two goals for four points. Volanski, the leading scorer for the Gents in 2005, has goals in the last two games, including one game-winner.

Behind Volanski is junior Dustin Forward (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch). From his defender position, Forward has a goal and two assists for four points, starting all three games this season.

Leading the team in scoring is the forward combination of Ben Page and Jorge Suarez.

Page, a junior striker, has two goals and five points, leading Lipscomb with 13 shots in four starts. Suarez, also a junior, has a goal and an assist for three points.

Both freshman Danny Prichard and junior Jake Goergen have seen action this season in net for the Bisons. Prichard leads the team in minutes, starting three games with a 1.96 goals-against average.

Georgia Southern (2-1-0) heads into this weekend’s tournament off a 2-1 defeat of Stetson on Sept. 3.

Playing in the Southern Conference, the Eagles venture away from Statesboro, Ga. for the first time this season.

Leading the team in scoring is sophomore Julian Donaldson, who has four points on two goals. Starting all three games in the midfield, Donaldson leads Georgia Southern with six shots.
