MONROE—The Centenary men’s and women’s cross country teams each picked up wins at the ULM Invitational at Pine Hills. The event was scored as several dual meets which pits each team entered in the meet against each other head-to-head. Overall, the Gents finished 3-1 with wins over Arkansas-Monticello, Mississippi College, and Northwestern State while the Ladies went 2-3 by defeating Arkansas-Monticello and Mississippi College.

Michael Haydel (Bossier City, La./Parkway HS) led the Gents with a third place finish overall with a 4.1 mile time of 22:19. Adam Walton (Shreveport, La./Dover Area HS) also cracked the top 10, placing seventh with an effort of 23:24 on the afternoon. William Fell (Shreveport, La./Captain Shreve HS) took 11th place while the rest of the Gents placed in order from 15th through 20th.

Newcomer Sunny LaGrone (Shreveport, La./Byrd HS) was just seconds off of VonPingel’s time as she grabbed 11th place at 13:50. The rest of the Ladies placed 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 28th, and 29th respectively.
