BOSSIER CITY—The Centenary women’s golf team finished round one of the Centenary Fall Classic in sixth place with a team score of 329, 24 shots behind tournament leader Oral Roberts University. Junior Chloe’ Mims paced the Ladies with a 79 on the par 72 course, good enough for 10th place individually.

 

Pamela Ontiveros of Oral Roberts led the field with a par 72 effort while McNeese’s Tinna Johannsdottir is one stroke back at 73. Christy Carter of ORU rounds out the top three with her round of 74.

 

Tracy Williams shot an 81 for Centenary to rank 22nd while Jessica Garza (82-22nd), Brittany Blackwell (87-31st), and Bethany Cox (91-36th) rounded out the Ladies team. Mary Kate Byrne (86-30th) and Lizzie Lyles (103-40th) competed as independents for the Maroon and White.

 

Day two of the Centenary Fall Classic will begin with a shot-gun start at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The final day will consist only of a single round.
