Gents Place Fifth in Centenary Fall Classic

BOSSIER CITY—The Centenary men’s golf team completed play in the Centenary Fall Classic on Sunday with a team round of 303 after a 311 on Saturday. The Gents total of 614 ranked the Maroon and White fifth in the six team event. McNeese State took the men’s title with a combined team effort of 582.

 

McNeese State finished three strokes ahead of Nicholls State (585) to claim the Fall Classic team title. Oral Roberts (+5), Louisiana-Monroe (+24), Centenary (+32), and Chicago State (+44) rounded out the field.

 

Independent player Austin Hannah from Oral Roberts won the individual title with a two-day total of 135 (65 and 70). Jeremy Jeansonne of McNeese posted a 140 (70 and 70) to finish in second place while Mauricio Tamez of Oral Roberts carded a 142 (72 and 70) to place third.

 

David Viviano was Centenary’s top finisher in seventh place with a score of 145 (68 and 77). Mark Weeber (152, 73 and 79) and John Hogan (157, 81 and 76) grabbed 16th and 25th place respectively for the Gents while Nick Faitz (160, 81 and 79) and Tyler Williams (162, 81 and 81) filled out the Centenary contingent.

 

Centenary will next travel to Lake Charles to take part in the McNeese State Moe O’Brien Invitational on September 25th.
