BOSSIER CITY—The Centenary women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Centenary Fall Classic at Stonebridge Country Club on Sunday. The Ladies combined for a team total of 331 to go with their Saturday effort of 329 to finish 56 shots back of tournament winner McNeese State (604) with a score of 660.


McNeese State placed 13 strokes better then the next closest competitor in Lamar (617). Oral Roberts (626), Louisiana-Monroe (631), Nicholls State (644), Centenary (660), and Chicago State (779) completed the field.


Individually, Pamela Ontiveros of Oral Roberts took the title with scores of 72 and 73 for a two-round total of 145. Tinna Johannsdottir (149, 73 and 76) of McNeese State placed second while Bonnie Howard (151, 77 and 74) of Lamar and Lacy McKinley (151, 79 and 72) of McNeese State tied for third.


Chloe’ Mims (79 and 80) and Tracy Williams (81 and 78) both posted Centenary’s top score of 159 to tie for 16th. Jessica Garza (25th – 167), Brittany Blackwell (33rd – 175), and Bethany Cox (37th – 179) rounded out the Ladies squad.     


Centenary will next travel to Monroe, La., to take part in the ULM Fred Marx Invitational on September 24th.
